Happy Capy Art Studio is located in the Sunrise Meadows community in Saratoga Springs, Utah, and classes are taught from my cozy in-home studio.
To respect the privacy of my family and students, I don’t publicly list the exact studio address online. Once registered, families will receive the full address and detailed directions.
If you'd like to preview the general area before registering, a nearby landmark is:
947 N Jack Rabbit Run, Saratoga Springs, UT.
Happy Capy Art Studio offers small-group art classes for kids and teens ages 6–17, with classes grouped by age and skill level to help students feel comfortable, confident, and creatively challenged. Specific age ranges vary depending on the class offering.
Happy Capy Art Studio offers a variety of small-group creative classes for kids and teens focused on creativity, confidence, and artistic growth. Students explore a wide range of materials and techniques including watercolor, acrylic painting, drawing, mixed media, clay, collage, printmaking, and more.
In addition to traditional art classes, some offerings focus on hands-on maker-style skills such as hand sewing, polymer clay, beadwork, leather projects, and other creative techniques designed to encourage craftsmanship, problem-solving, and creativity.
Each class is thoughtfully designed around the age and skill level of the students, with projects that encourage exploration, artistic growth, and genuine enjoyment of the creative process.
At Happy Capy Art Studio, I teach with the belief that the joy of art is found in the process of creating, not just the finished project. While students learn a wide variety of artistic techniques and skills, the heart of my studio is focused on creativity, confidence, and genuine self-expression.
I believe creative experiences help children develop valuable skills like problem-solving, observation, patience, and creative thinking, while also giving them a safe and encouraging space to explore new ideas.
Because every child learns differently, I make a sincere effort to get to know each student personally so I can better support and encourage their individual creative growth. My goal is to create classes that feel uplifting, memorable, and welcoming for artists of all skill levels.
That’s completely okay! Many students join Happy Capy Art Studio with little or no previous art experience. My classes are designed to be encouraging and approachable for a wide range of skill levels, with plenty of guidance and support along the way. The focus is on creativity, growth, and building confidence — not perfection.
Many students feel a little nervous when starting something new, and that’s completely normal. I work hard to create a warm, welcoming environment where students feel safe, encouraged, and included. Because classes are smaller and relationship-focused, students often become more comfortable and confident over time as friendships naturally develop within the group.
Most classes are intentionally kept small, typically ranging from 8–16 students depending on the class and age group. Smaller class sizes allow me to better connect with students, offer individualized encouragement, and create a warm and supportive studio environment.
Many younger classes also include a teacher’s aide to help support students during class projects and activities.
Classes are designed as drop-off classes so students can fully engage in the creative experience and build independence and confidence within the group setting. Because the studio space is limited, I’m generally not able to accommodate parents or younger siblings staying during class.
For students who may feel especially nervous at the beginning, parents are welcome to briefly help with the transition during the first few minutes of class if needed.
Art can get a little messy sometimes, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothes that can handle the occasional paint splatter or creative accident. While aprons are available, it’s always best to come dressed for creativity.
Yes! Happy Capy Art Studio is currently a Harmony vendor and works with OpenEd recipients. I am also currently in the process of becoming an Odyssey vendor for Utah Fits All.
If you have questions about scholarship funding, reimbursements, or vendor programs, feel free to reach out before registering.
Sometimes! If space is available and I feel the class would still be a good fit for the student, I may allow mid-year enrollment on a case-by-case basis. Some classes are easier to join mid-year than others depending on the projects and overall class dynamic.
My classes are designed as ongoing creative communities where students build artistic skills, confidence, and friendships over time. Keeping classes consistent throughout the school year also allows me to thoughtfully plan projects, get to know students individually, and create a more supportive and connected studio environment.
This structure also helps keep tuition more affordable and predictable for families compared to shorter-term or drop-in style programs.
While classes are intended as a school-year commitment, I understand that circumstances can change. I always encourage open communication so we can work together if unexpected situations arise.
While I do not require formal contracts, enrollment in a weekly class is considered a commitment for the school year (September–April). My classes are designed as ongoing creative communities where students build artistic skills, confidence, and friendships over time.
This consistent structure also allows me to thoughtfully plan classes and keep tuition more affordable for families.
I understand that joining a new class is a big decision, which is why new students are welcome to enroll for the first month before fully committing for the school year. If the class doesn’t feel like the right fit after the first month, I completely understand.
If unexpected circumstances arise during the year, I always encourage open communication so we can work together to find a solution.
A non-refundable $30 registration fee is due at the time of enrollment and is applied toward your total yearly tuition.
Most supplies are included in tuition, though a few specialty classes may have additional materials fees. For example, Studio Artists includes a one-time $30 sketchbook and materials fee, and Maker Studio includes a $50 per semester materials fee that is divided across monthly tuition payments.
Any additional fees are always clearly listed on the class registration page before enrollment.
At this time, I do not offer sibling or multi-class discounts. Keeping tuition structured consistently across classes helps me keep pricing as affordable and sustainable as possible for all families while continuing to provide high-quality materials, small class sizes, and a thoughtful studio experience.
Because classes are small-group and project-based, I’m not able to offer refunds or separate make-up classes for missed sessions. However, I always do my best to help students jump back in smoothly the following week and can often provide guidance, reference photos, or project information when appropriate.
