Hi, I'm Kristell
From a young age, I knew I was a teacher at heart. In 6th grade, I spent my recess going into the kindergarten classrooms and teaching the kids how to draw step-by-step. Looking back, I’m so grateful for those early moments that sparked my love of teaching.
As I got older, I discovered how much I loved working with children. After becoming a mom to four creative girls of my own, I found myself constantly searching for fun projects and creative experiences to share with them, which eventually led me to begin teaching art at a local homeschool co-op.
Teaching at the co-op became a turning point for me. One day, a mom asked if I offered lessons outside the co-op. At the time, I already had another job and couldn’t imagine taking on something new, but the question stayed with me: What if?
Before long, I took the leap and started teaching summer camps just a few short months later.
Now, I get to spend my days doing something I truly love. At Happy Capy Art Studio, I teach with the belief that art is about the process, not just the finished project. My goal is to create classes that feel encouraging, creative, and memorable — a place where students can build confidence, explore new ideas, and genuinely enjoy making art.
