Hi, I'm Kristell

nice to meet you

From a young age, I knew that I was a teacher at heart. When I was in the 6th grade, I spent my recess going into the kindergarten classrooms and teaching the kids how to draw step-by-step. Looking back, I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have sparked my love of teaching.

As I got older, I discovered my passion for working with children. In high school, I worked at a gym daycare and loved every minute of it. Kids are so funny and carefree, and I always seemed to have a natural connection with them. This love for working with children only grew when I became a mom to four fun and creative girls. I spent time looking for crafts and projects to do together and eventually started teaching art at my local homeschool co-op.

Teaching at the co-op was an eye-opening experience for me. I noticed how engaged the kids were and how naturally teaching came to me. One day, a mom at the co-op asked me if I taught art lessons outside of co-op. At the time, I already had a job and didn't think I had the time to take on anything else. But that question started to nag at me: What if? What if I could teach art instead of what I was doing now? The wheels started to turn, and before I knew it, I had taken the leap and started teaching Summer camp just a few short months later.

Now, I wake up every day feeling so grateful that I get to do something that I absolutely love. I teach art with the philosophy that it's about the process and not just the finished project. I make classes fun and engaging, always thinking about how to make each child's experience memorable. Whether I'm working with a group of kindergarteners or teenagers, I approach each class with the same passion and energy.
